Thank you for coming to the 2022 TaDa! Performing Arts Festival!
Theatre Wakefield would like to thank everyone for helping us make this year’s TaDa! Festival such a success! We had splendid artists who dug deep to reveal vulnerable parts of themselves, recounting their stories with audacity and grace — and humour! We had enthusiastic audiences, committed volunteers, the support of our business community and funders. Who could ask for more?
Next year’s Festival returns to its regular time slot in September 2023 — see you then!!

We welcome patrons onto the ancient territory of the Algonquin people, who for over 200 years have received all of us as their guests. Together, we recognize that we gather on land that is unceded Algonquin territory. We acknowledge this with respectful thanks, advocacy and action towards reparation and reconciliation.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you back to Theatre Wakefield’s TaDa! Performing Arts Festival! Our 2022 Festival features six shows: two stories about women by women, an Indigenous man’s spiritual journey, a drag queen cabaret, a children’s musician, and Seniors Create — a showcase of work where all the participants are over 60! We’re hosting two workshops and of course there will be a party to celebrate and support our community of artists after so much hardship. In their honour, this year’s event features performers almost exclusively from our region.
A whole roster of volunteers and staff work tirelessly each year to put on the festival, offering activities for the whole family and this year is no exception. No wonder we say that TaDa! is a breath of fresh air on the festival circuit!

Getting Ready with the Queen!
Ever wonder how drag queens get ready? Join Aimee Yoncé as she gets ready to perform, and you’ll soon see that “everything is fake!”

This is your chance to watch a master at work: a professional drag queen spends hours on make-up preparing for her performance and Aimee’s got it down to an art. In watching her amazing transformation, you can ask Aimee any questions about the art form and what drew her to it as she pulls herself together for the evening’s show. This event takes place backstage and will be lively and fun! It’s FREE but you must register as space is limited.
